Dr. Rushita Mehta is an Adult and Pediatric Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology specialists who received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia. She then moved to New York to complete her residency in Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine Jacobi Medical Center and her fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Mehta is double board certified with the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Mehta is an Associate Clinical Professor at NYP/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York. She is devoted to teaching and has given presentations and lectures on various topics within the field of allergy, asthma, and immunology. Her desire to teach carries over to her clinical practice as she believes educating her patients and their families allows them to better understand their body and as well as empowers them to make the best decisions for their health.
Dr. Mehta is on the executive board of the New York Allergy and Asthma Society, a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI), and a member of the American Association of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology as well as the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. She also serves on the Environmental Allergies committee for the ACAAI.
Dr. Mehta has been practicing in New York City for many years treating both adult and pediatric patients specializing in the management of a variety of conditions including environmental allergies, asthma, sinusitis, food allergies, penicillin allergy, insect venom allergies, anaphylaxis, eczema, contact dermatitis, hives, and angioedema.
She is committed to providing the highest quality of evidence-based, personalized care to her patients. Dr. Mehta takes the time to listen to her patient’s concerns to formulate a comprehensive care plan that aligns with the patient’s lifestyle. She communicates effectively with her patients, thinks outside of the box, and provides individualized treatment plans and explanations that make sense.
